Barbados Wildlife Encounter and Beach Day
Join us on a short 3 hour island tour of Barbados. Our route then takes us inland through roads lined with cane fields, swaying palm trees and rolling green hills.
Our first stop of the day will be Welchman Hall Gully. The gully was formed when the roof of a cave collapsed hundreds of thousands of years ago. Today along the gully trail one can see some of the cave formations such as stalactites that once adorned the cave. The gully is now a lush tropical paradise where many plants and trees thrive. A large troop of Barbados Green Monkeys call the gully home and we hope to see them at play and observe them during their feeding time on our visit to the gully. (Please note that the monkeys are wild animals, they are not held in an enclosure, they are able to come and go as they please; therefore there is no guarantee of seeing monkeys. Having said that we do see them most of the time)
Continuing on our tour you will head across the island to The Unesco World Heritage site if the Garrison Savannah. This site is home to the George Washington House, the Main Guard and the St. Anne's fort. Your tour will circle the area and your guide will point out the various historical landmarks and explain to you their significance.
No visit to Barbados would be complete without spending a few hours as one of our
beautiful beaches and we are going to take you to what is considered one of the most beautiful. Carlisle Bay has the whitest sand in Barbados and the most brilliant turquoise sea. The Carlisle Bay Marine Park has 6 shipwrecks and is home to diverse and colorful marine life that includes turtles, star fish, sand dollars, sting rays and more.
Every great beach needs a equally great beach bar, a fun and exciting, chilled out hang out to help you get your island groove on and create fabulous memories. Pirate's Cove fits the bill and then some!! Pirate's Cove is Located on the Northern end of Carlisle Bay, just steps away from the islands capital of Bridgetown. The beach at Pirate's Cove is lined with coconut trees and dotted with coconut thatched umbrellas. On arrival at Pirate's Cove you will be presented a welcome drink and ushered to your very own place in paradise complete with a beach lounger and shared umbrella.
The bamboo bar is a great place to hang out and have a pirate's brew or a signature pirates burger. Local and international cuisine is available along with a craft market and souvenir stands to make your pirate's experience a complete one. On the beach there is a kids zone for the little ones and beach toys for adults who are still kids at heart or crave a bit of adventure.
Freshwater showers, changing rooms and washroom facilities are also provided for your comfort.
(Please note your visit to Pirate's Cove includes 1 welcome drink along with the use of 1 beach chair and shared umbrella)
